MODELING

 

Alana Monteiro is a Top Supermodel. She is ranked in the Top 50 Models in the World.

She is also ranked in the top 100 Black female models who carved a niche for themselves in the fashion industry with rankings including a list of icons such as Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks.

She started her modeling career at the early age of 18 right after she graduated high school. She decided that she did not want to go to college and that she wanted to pursue a career as a professional model in New York City. She faced success immediately upon moving to NYC by signing to top leading prestigious modeling agencies including Wilhelmina Models and Next Model Management. She also signed to top modeling agencies all around the globe including London, Europe, Denmark, and Germany. 

 

Alana has landed over 30 editorials and covers in the world's top high fashion magazines including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, L'Officiel, Numéro, Glamour, Grazia and many more. She has worked with some of the industry's top leading beauty brands such as CoverGirl, Clinique, L'Oréal Paris, MAC Cosmetics, Revlon, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, bare Minerals and NARS. She has done countless amounts of print advertisement campaign for some of the world's most globally known brands such as Nike, Reebok, Under Armour, Footlocker, Gap, TJ Maxx, Marshals, Macy's, Puma, Target, Reebok, Fila etc. Her campaigns have been featured in thousands of stores across the nation and worldwide. Her campaigns have as been featured on billboards in Times Square, New York City.

Not only is Alana a supermodel, but she is also an extremely talented versatile artist. She is also a singer-songwriter, writer, actress, voice-actress and dancer.

 

 EARLY LIFE

​

For her early life, Alana was born and raised in Massachusetts. Since birth, she was heavily involved in the performing arts. She started singing and dancing as soon as she could talk and walk. As a child, her parents often bought her microphones, karaoke games and placed her in dancing school at an early age because that’s all she would do was sing and dance.

  She danced for 15 years. Her dancing including competing in dance competitions during the year and having dance recitals at the end of dance season. She did every type of genre of dance. With hip hop being her favorite and what she was most excelled at, she also did tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and contemporary. She would always be awarded the hip-hop award by her dance teacher. She also enjoyed singing and songwriting from a very early age. She started writing lyrics to beats from an early age since she was about 9 or 10. She was also put in different theater programs and church pays as a kid. Her most memorable role as a child was playing Mary in a Christmas Church Play.

ACTING

With Alana doing theater as a child, she has taken a break in her teen years, but has started back again upon moving to New York City at the age of 18. She began to study at prestigious acting schools such as Stella Adler and New York Film Academy. She began her film career by landing featured roles on major films. She has appeared in 3x Emmy Award Winning Disney's "Hocus Pocus 2" starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Midler.  Along with other movies such as "Someone Great" starring Gina Rodriguez, DeWanda Wise and Brittany Snow. "Second Act" starring Jennifer Lopez and Vanessa Hudgens, "Good Burger 2' starring kenan and Kel. She also has landed principal roles in national airing commercials such as Fanatics, PSA and Furniture commercials.

MUSIC 

Monteiro writes and sings her own music. With her singing and songwriting starting as a child, it looks like she has made a complete full 360 turn. At the age of 24, Alana released her first hit single titled "High". The song was written by herself. The single reached major popularity with radio play, playlists, reposts and the simple fact that people didn't know that she could sing. With the success and popularity of her first single, she went on to create many more hits and music videos. Some of her other popular singles include "High" "Ghosting" "If the Roles Were reversed".
